Campaign Frequency Capping

There are Global Frequency Cappings that apply to every campaign, but its also possible to use specific settings for each campaign.

Important Information

  • This setting does not replace the Global Frequency Cappings, it can only add to it/make it more strict.
  • Campaign Frequency Cappings apply to any messages of the chosen channels, no matter what campaign or story it was sent from, including the same one (e.g. if there is more than one message for the channel in the campaign and the user applies to both).
  • If the capping in the campaign is set to "overall" it applies even to the other messages within the same campaign for the same campaign run. Meaning only the first message (whatever is the first, which can be random) will get executed and the other capped out.

Example

This campaign has 1 Email-message and 1 SFTP upload, both restricted to 1 per hour each, but also 1 per hour overall.

This means, that only Email OR SFTP Upload will be executed for the users in this campaign.

Keep in mind

  • Capping functionality is not intended for advanced filtering.

  • Any scenario that can be solved using simple segmentation instead of capping should use segmentation.

  • Capping should be considered a "last clear chance" to ensure a customer does not receive more than the defined number of messages.
